Goddess Durga To Arrive On A Palki

Every time Navratri begins, special attention is given to the vehicle (vahan) on which Goddess Durga is believed to arrive. In this sequence, since Ashadha Gupt Navratri will begin on a Thursday, it is believed that Goddess Durga will arrive on a palanquin (palki or doli). However, according to religious beliefs, the arrival of the Goddess on a Palki is considered inauspicious. It is believed that during such times, there is a possibility of heavy rainfall during this Gupt Navratri.

According to the scriptures, when the Goddess arrives on a palanquin, it is regarded as a sign of impending hardships for the nation, such as pandemics, economic downturns, or recessions. It may also indicate the likelihood of natural disasters and incidents of violence.
